UN Women focuses on gender equality and women’s empowerment by accelerating progress to meet the needs of women and girls worldwide. Empowering women economically with a focus on green economics and climate change is a part of the sustainable development agenda of UN Women. UN Women engages with civil society organizations, advisory groups, foundations and government contributors to bring about a change in the women empowerment sector.
WOCAN ensures that women’s role and leadership is well recognized in organizations engaged in agriculture and natural resource management. WOCAN works with the objective of bringing institutional change on a gender perspective. This strategy leads to equal distribution of responsibilities, rights, benefits and power between women and men and could possibly bring organizational transformation for gender equality. Through its projects, WOCAN aims to increase women’s inclusion in the development process and also supports women to be facilitators of change.
The Mary Robinson Foundation-Climate Justice provides platform for thought leadership, education and advocacy with the aim of achieving secure global justice for the people who are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change i.e., the poor, the disempowered and the marginalized across the world. The Foundation emphasizes on sustainable and people-centered development.
