Gender, Agriculture and State Climate Action Plans: Policies and Practices Sharing research findings

Event

Alternative Futures, New Delhi is organising a half day roundtable on ‘Gender, Agriculture and State Climate Action Plans: Policies and Practices’, on March 13, 2014, from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm at India International Centre, Lodi Road, New Delhi.

The purpose of the event is to share research findings of a 2- year evidence- based policy research on gender, agriculture and state climate action plans undertaken in 5 states (Andra Pradesh, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and Madhya Pradesh). This research examines climate policies and practices from farmers’ point of view, especially the women farmers, who are central to the success of adaptation measures but are often not part of the policy formulations and interventions.  The Roundtable will be attended by government officials, climate and agriculture scientists as well as practitioners from grassroots NGOs and representatives of bilateral/multilateral agencies involved in helping States formulate their climate action plans.
