Established with a broad overarching vision of building an energy efficient India, AEEE has been working with various agencies and organizations to realize its goal of energy efficiency implementation through policy research and facilitating market transformation, fostering technological innovations, capacity building of energy professionals and stimulating financial investments.

Key themes on which AEEE works are as follows:
• Buildings
• Industrial Energy Efficiency
• Utility initiated Demand Side Management (DSM)
• ESCO (Energy Service Company) and EE (Energy Efficiency) Financing
• Measurement and Verification
• Standards and Labelling

Alternative Futures is a member of AEEE. Founding member of AEEE, Dr. Koshy Cherail (also the nominated President of AEEE Secretariat and Secretary to the Board of Directors) is one of the members of AF’s board of trustees.
